I never got to use the S2-IS so I cannot really compare them. I find the video on SX10 to be a bit lacking. It goes out of focus even if I am not zooming in or out. My SX1 never used to do that which was brilliant. But when it does stay in focus, the quality is better. The SX10 is an improvement over the S1-IS. Use of this new camera is far simpler and better than S2-IS with much more capability. But I think the image quality of the S2-IS camera is better than SX10. I shot many photos in same condition with both cameras(indoor and out door). When I compare the photos, I found the old camera’s photos are better than the new ones, They are livelier . I found no issues with the S5 during that time... I just upgraded to the SX10 and I must say I love it also !!! only thing I wish it had was the 4 fps the SX1 has... If canon chooses not to release the SX! here I may be forced to buy one from Amazon.uk...
